About Me.
Hello, my name is Cat, and I am a passionate outdoors therapeutic practitioner.

I believe in the transformative power of nature and its ability to heal and nurture individuals struggling with the daily challenges of life. With over 15 years experience of working with young people, I have witnessed first hand the profound impact that connecting with the natural world can have on personal growth and emotional well being.

Throughout my career I have worked with individuals of all ages from nursery age through to adolescents. I have vast experience of working with a wide range of personal difficulties, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, social, emotional and behavioural challenges and those who are neurodiverse. By combining evidence-based therapeutic techniques alongside practical bushcraft skills, I strive to create a safe and nurturing space that encourages self reflection and opportunities for healing.

I wholeheartedly believe that nature provides a unique therapeutic environment where individuals can disconnect and work at their own pace to build resilience and develop the skills needed for self regulation.

I bring over two decades of valuable experience working with diverse age groups, ranging from 4 to 18 years old. My journey includes significant periods in mainstream secondary and primary schools, as well as my recent role in an IB Autism specialist school. Additionally, I have made meaningful contributions in children's social care as a Looked After Children (LAC) post-16 mentor. This extensive background has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals across different educational and developmental stages.

I can offer a bespoke intervention to suit the needs of your students.
A programme of intervention is designed based upon the information gained from referral forms and a Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ). I will use the information provided to create a bespoke intervention for each participant/s. Sessions incorporate a variety of mindfulness, bushcraft and thinking skills. As with any therapeutic intervention, it is vital to meet each individual where they are. Unconditional positive regard is at the heart of every session and due to my extensive experience, I am able to adapt and work alongside participants at their own pace.
Full confidentiality given at all times.
A recommended programme of 6-10 sessions is required, however, long term therapeutic interventions may be possible. An impact assessment report will be available at the end of the programme
If you have some outdoor space which will offer a place for nature connection and an opportunity for reflection, then please contact me to discuss your needs.
